This piece is dedicated to Arthur and Winsome Sunderland who kindly allowed me to stay in their house in Fairfield while they were overseas in 1992. I developed the sketch further in 1994 in Warrandyte. Structurally, the piece is cast in a modified song form and the rhythmic phrasing always falls within some multiple of seven. It was written for Ken Murray who also assisted with fingering annotations. He gave the premiere performance on 19 April 1994 at St Mark’s Uniting Church, Chadstone.
